Beautiful Mountain area ( Cajon Precordillerano ) located on feet of the andes Mountain Range just east of San Clemente, between the rivers : Claro and Lircay . The are is defined by its beautiful landscape , The dense native vegetation and possibilities for the practice of activities ecotourism . Its main attractions are :  "Laguna de los patos", "Laguna del Toro", "Quebrada del coigüe , "Piedras Tacitas" ( Small holes created onto a large boulder created by an ancient civilization),  and the Lircay River. "Vilches Alto" is part of the Altos de Lircay National Reserve , where there is a visitor center with information and displays about the local Fauna and Flora. Also this is the start of the rute called "Sendero de Chile" that will take you to "Valle del Venado" ( Valley of the Deer) , "Enladrillado" ( Ancient rock formation believed to be a UFO landing site) , "Laguna del Alto" and the Volcanoe "El Descabezado Grande".

Transportation is available from Talca every 1/2 hour during the day ( last Bus leaves at 7 pm ) to the Old Hotel Area.  for more information you can call the local bus station at 56-71-2203992 ( Sorry Spanish only ) , if you miss the last bus you can stay in one of the local Hotels in Talca or take a Taxi to vilches ( About an Hour drive )
